Course Purpose


This course provides the learner with the basic personal computing skills, which are required by most Microsoft compliant applications.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course the delegate will be able to:

§ Examine and make changes to the PC’s BIOS
§ Change the screen’s Resolution
§ Change the mouse’s settings
§ Install software
§ Un-install software
§ Create a shortcut on the desktop
§ Create new folders and sub-folders
§ Find files
§ Examine and change file attributes
§ Use the help function
§ Copy and Paste Data between applications

Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

§ Up and Running: Cables, Port Types, Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, Fonts, Installing and Un-installing software, Boot-up
§ The operating System: DOS, Windows, Icons, etc.
